Bread & Butter Pickles
In a large bowl, combine first four ingredients.
Stir in large amount of cracked ice. Let stand 3 hours; drain well.
In a large kettle, combine remaining ingredients; add drained mixture.
Bring to a boil, then shut off and let cool.
Put in plastic containers and put in freezer for a least two weeks.*
