Mustard Seeds, Whole Brown
Brown Mustard Seed is the dried seeds of the flowering plant Brassica juncea, a member of the mustard and cabbage family. They are slightly hotter than the yellow variety and are traditionallyused in Asian, African and Indian cuisine. Cooking in oil releases nutty flavor, important in many vegetarian dishes. They can also be used in barbecue sauce and rubs, or in marinades for grilling. Of course they are essential in the preparation of the condiment, brown mustard.
