The seeds of the Anethum graveolens herb, sole species of the genus Anethum. They have a flavor similar to Caraway but with the undertones of Dill Weed. They are an essential ingredient in Dill Pickles and commonly used in Indian food. Heating the dill seed brings out the flavor whereas dill weed is less heat tolerant.
